Around The Clock Effort To Restore Water to 14th Street Homes in Hicksville

Water was temporarily shut down to thirteen homes on 14th Street between Meyers Avenue and Burns Avenue so that National Grid could make repairs. No other homes were affected. more

Hicksville Water District Receives Partial Settlement on MTBE Litigation
August 1, 2008

The Hicksville Water District today announced a pending settlement with many of America's leading oil companies over the gasoline additive Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether (MTBE). The pending settlement stems from a lawsuit filed by the Hicksville Water District, which was consolidated in a federal Multi-District Litigation (MDL) court in New York established to hear MTBE cases nationwide. U.S. District Court Judge Shira Scheindlin (NY), must approve the settlements in particular cases before the entire settlement becomes final, is currently reviewing the settlement. more
